To enter The New Writer Annual Prose and Poetry Prizes, please click the appropriate ‘Add to cart’ button(s) in the form below. Your browser will be redirected to Paypal who will securely process the transaction on our behalf. To enter multiple categories click “Continue Shopping” in the Paypal screen. Once you have submitted the form you should send your entry as an email attachment in MSWord to info@thenewwriter.com In that way the formatting of your work will be exactly how you want it to be read by the judges. We will connect your entry to your payment on arrival.
All work should be double-spaced (poetry should be single-spaced). Entrants may make as many submissions as they wish but please include your name, address, title of entry, word count (fiction only) and category on a separate cover sheet with every entry. Preliminary judging will be carried out by The New Writer editorial board with guest judges making the final selection so there should be no identifying marks – apart from the title – on the entries. Entries are non-returnable.
If you haven’t already done so, you can subscribe to The New Writer here.
Your card will be debited once your payment is made and before your entry is received at The New Writer office. We will confirm receipt of your entry by email.
If you prefer to pay by cheque, postal order or international money order made payable to The New Writer, we will need details of your entry (including category) and full contact information. You’ll be able to download an entry form here in due course.
If you are unable to pay in pounds sterling OR by credit card, and you would like to pay by cheque or notes in your own currency, please add the equivalent of an extra 12 pounds sterling to the entry fee which should enable us to cover banking conversions and transactions at this end.
All online entries must be received by midnight on 30th November 2013 to qualify for this year’s competition or postmarked prior to or on 30th November 2013.
